BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Quick is an Irish-Canadian artist based in County Laois, Ireland. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (with distinction) from Mount Allison University in Canada.

Her practice is deeply rooted in exploring boundary, identity, and the tension between what is “self” and “other.” Her signature work “The Struggle” is a multi-panel installation that investigates the divisions we impose — between humankind and nature, conscious and unconscious, individuation and unity.

Over the course of her career, Sarah has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad, participating in juried and group shows as well as solo exhibitions. Her solo show “The Struggle” was presented at K Fest, while other group shows include “Ancestral Houses” (Beijing), “Bloodroot” (The Hague), and St. Brigid’s Day themed exhibitions in Dublin, London, and Berlin.

Sarah is the recipient of several distinctions, including the Elizabeth Greenshields Award and the John P. Asimakos Award in Painting. She has also been awarded residencies, among them at Shankhill Castle and Burren College of Art.

In addition to painting, Sarah practices life drawing at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin.
